What's So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable procedure that can take several weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture entering our dental office to receive a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, durable, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to learn more!

The Same Day Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dental practitioner will discuss the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any concerns you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Huge on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
