Are you too busy for the routine two dental appointment crown?

Technology today is altering our everyday lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and interesting ways.

Advanced developments in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less pain and producing gratifying results.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, permits dental practitioners to rapidly restore broken teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and inconvenience.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dentist can economically fix broken teeth in a single visit using a top quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, integrating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dentist uses a unique camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD technology to design the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately produces the restoration while the patient waits.

Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about 2 hours.

Exactly what does this development provide for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists no longer have to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second appointment has been removed.

Same day crowns have twenty years of medical research study and documentation to promote the technology. The restorations have been shown accurate, safe and effective.

How can I discover if this is an option for me?

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
