There are various kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is analyzed and a decision is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular performance and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Often implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.
It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your self-confidence in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.
Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper complete denture will usually feel better than a lower full denture. In order to drastically enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for multiple years.
