At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have actually now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, usually in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling unit.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is great.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and after that we clean up!

We need to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

Today's Subject Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in certain situations where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
