Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or ended up being stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive methods rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
