The Benefits Of Using Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which copies the look of your natural teeth thus making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same resilience as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this brand-new innovation is more precise as compared to standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only disadvantage of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line needs a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown because they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of treatment or you have further questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
