Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still very long lasting and will last years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique typically involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect method generally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
