Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this new innovation it allows dental practitioners to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can make natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers right here in our office while you unwind. Now, there is no longer a need to make multiple trips to the dentist's office to be measured and fitted with short-term restorations - you can enjoy a brilliant, natural looking, and durable option for your missing or broken teeth today.

First, your dentist will consult with you to discuss the information of the treatment. Throughout the treatment, the dentist will apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique camera to take a photo of your tooth.

Using the brand-new software, the photo acts as a map to create your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to develop your restoration piece from ceramic.

Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth tougher and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the top-quality ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. As soon as this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
