Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are taking place in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to create crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have needed 2 appointments. The very first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a temporary as well as a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Topic Is:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with many dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy normally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy typically involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
