Advanced innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less pain and developing rewarding results.

One advancement instrument, called same day crowns, allow dentists to rapidly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and trouble.

Exactly what are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dental practitioner can quickly restore broken teeth in a single appointment using a top quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, integrating a camera, computer, and milling device in one instrument.

The dental practitioner utilizes a unique camera to take an accurate photo of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is moved and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to design the restoration. The CAM takes over and immediately produces the restoration while the patient waits.

At lastly, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about two hours.

What does this development provide for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings tarnishing smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dental practitioners don't need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the conventional 2nd visit has actually been eliminated.

Same day crowns have twenty years of clinical research study and paperwork to promote the technology. The restorations have been shown accurate, safe and efficient.

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient lightening process. The visit is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
