  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same toughness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this new technology is more precise compared to standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this procedure. Clients with substantial tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line needs a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown because they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very painful. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
