Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique generally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique typically involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
