There are different kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular performance and look return and one simply carries on as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.
It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper complete denture will usually feel better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably enhance comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
