There are various types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is examined and a determination is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and look return and one simply continues as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.
It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social situations, and even your self-esteem.
A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the exact same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper full denture will almost always feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly enhance the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for numerous years.
