What Is So Great About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable process that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any questions you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a full range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and convenient whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
