Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. This technology can produce full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the advantage of a one visit restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The procedure for positioning of a same day crown restoration is extremely simple. The initial step is to get rid of all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an acceptable image. When this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dentist to design the restoration right in front of you.

As soon as the design is finished, the same day crown device will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually see this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dental practitioner will place the restoration on your tooth.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
