There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made as to which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and look return and one simply carries on as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.
It is important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-confidence.
A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the exact same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
