Why Pick Single Visit Crowns?

It is essential for a individual to have a strong and healthy set of teeth. However, there are some cases where dental cavity development is inevitable. It is typically caused by the person's diet, habits and hygiene. Cavities that are not fixed early may cause substantial damage to the tooth's enamel which may require a dental crown to restore its natural appearance and function.

A dental crown is a cap formed like a tooth which is used to cover the tooth that has actually undergone extensive damage caused by dental cavities. Getting it usually requires two dental visits. During the very first appointment, your broken tooth is cleaned up and the decayed part is eliminated. The dentist will then get the impression of your tooth that required the crown and will send it to a dental laboratory where traditional dental crowns were made. It could be made from a metal, ceramic or porcelain material. Only during the second appointment, your custom-fitted dental crown is cemented to your broken tooth.

With the development in dental technology, the procedure of getting and wearing a dental crown has been made easily offered. Dentists use the new technology in making inlays/onlays, crowns and veneers. After your broken tooth is prepared, they will use an intraoral camera that will take the picture of your affected tooth and have it uploaded to a computer. It will use a computer-aided design in taking the digital impression of your teeth and the impression is transmitted to the computer-aided manufacturing machine which will mill a color-matched ceramic block to your same day crowns. Picking a same day crown over a standard dental crown has its benefits and disadvantages.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has actually been damaged or ended up being stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive ways rather than through a more costly dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
