The Benefits Of Using Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which imitates the look of your natural teeth therefore making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same toughness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this brand-new innovation is more precise compared to standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all clients are candidates for this treatment. Clients with substantial tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown instead of a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect problems early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really agonizing. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
