Temporary crowns and 2nd visits for crowns are now usually unnecessary thanks to the same day crown innovation. We offer this amazing one-visit crown innovation in our office, adding greater convenience to the procedure of getting a crown. The waiting time between your treatment and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that enables ceramic restorations (veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns) to be performed in one check-up instead of 2. The computer collaborates with a digital camera allowing the dental practitioner to make digital impressions without the discomfort of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes control and mills your customized crown immediately so that we can cement your new crown that very same day. The results we see are amazing. With the same day crowns, the strength, aesthetics, and fit of the ceramic restorations are exceptional.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
