Our practice likes new technology, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can supply to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a wonderful new innovation where lovely all porcelain crowns are created within 2 hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to get the crown constructed. Throughout this time the patient would need to have a short-term plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return again to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed up again! No more needles!

Our practice chooses same day crowns since it is made of stunning material and also very long lasting.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to most dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
