If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or want to eliminate unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a great option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding toughness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would gain from the procedure. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a temporary crown placed then another visit arranged for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new innovation that scans the mouth to get the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are extremely strong and resilient and constructed out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you may want to talk about your budget as well with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will go over with you the kinds of crowns available and offer you a recommendation based on your certain scenario.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a badly damaged joint.
