Same day crowns are an sophisticated dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, split, or cracked teeth. This technology can create full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the advantage of a one appointment restoration, there is no unpleasant impression product to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The treatment for positioning of a same day crown restoration is extremely easy. The first step is to get rid of all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an appropriate image. When this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will permit the dental practitioner to develop the restoration right in front of you.

As soon as the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually watch this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of methods to bleach teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and hassle-free whitening process. The visit is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
