Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. This technology can create complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one visit restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The treatment for placement of a same day crown restoration is really basic. The primary step is to eliminate all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an acceptable image. Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dental practitioner to design the restoration right in front of you.

As soon as the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually view this procedure if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dentist will put the restoration on your tooth.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover problems early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
