Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a terrific time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced technology and procedures to provide our patients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are very pleased to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help reinforce the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously stained tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing appearance.

Normally getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, provide you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and after that have you return to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and remove any need to send out impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, because our long-term crown will be instantly available to you.

If you want to meet with our dental practitioner to learn more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our practice.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Subject Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this happens, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely agonizing. Signs that the pulp has become infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
