Why Choose Same Day Dental Crowns?

There are numerous benefits of single day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, conserving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a temporary crown, which eliminates significant possible pain and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No traditional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Looks: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new innovation restores your teeth to their natural strength, appeal, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Strength: Milled ceramic is tougher than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay lovely for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed out of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and tougher because of bonding innovation.

If you have any more concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to call our office today. We will address any questions you have and you can make an appointment to speak to our dentist face to face.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a badly damaged joint.
