Single Visit Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have needed two visits. The very first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a short-term as well as a second visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be essential to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is normally constructed of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some individuals, dental implants provide a smile that looks and feels extremely natural. Surgically positioned below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and work as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability due to the fact that they connect to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also find the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional alternatives. Candidates for dental implants have to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant may be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a small titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. When the implant is securely embeded in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has multiple advantages. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the client who, once the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not have to be taken out all the time.
