3 Reasons To Ask About Same Day Crowns

If you've ever had a crown positioned over one of your teeth previously, you understand that the process typically includes a minimum of 2 visits to the dentist and the positioning of a short-term crown before you getting your long-term one.

However, there is a brand-new procedure for installing crowns that can enable you to get a permanent crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown machines enables crowns to be produced right there beside the dental practitioner's chair.

Take a look at a couple of reasons that same day crowns might be right for you.

Natural Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made entirely of ceramic, eliminating the need for metal. While metal crowns are completely practical and safe, they're often thought as less appealing than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable choice, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown precisely to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Time And Money

Every hour you invest at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to go back to the dentist's office a number of times for one procedure might indicate getting time off at work authorized for more than one day, getting a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your car with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a short time-span.

Any which way you take a look at it, multiple dental appointments cost you money, in addition to what you're spending on the dental treatment. Getting everything carried out in one visit conserves time, and time is money.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown procedure takes a digital scan of your tooth and after that is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the specific specs supplied by the digital scan.

This allows the dental practitioner to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest option for your jaw.

This also enables the dental practitioner to use the machine to produce inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you need more coverage than a filling will provide but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements provided by the same day crown device, teeth that might once have needed a complete crown might now be candidates for only a partial crown.

If you know that one of your damaged teeth will probably need a crown, be sure to make an appointment with our dental practitioners today.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling frequently uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits then polished.
