Same Day Dental Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It allows us to develop crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have needed two appointments. The first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be completed in simply one visit. We will use video imaging technology to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a short-term along with a 2nd visit.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many patients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple techniques: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and hassle-free bleaching process. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
