A Couple Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental treatment that is often required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not work.

Typical crowns are fairly inconvenient to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a fantastic choice due to the fact that they are more convenient and result in less pain:

A Lot Less Painful

A traditional crown can lead to discomfort for a couple of factors, however one of the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of having to get a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to secure your exposed tooth till your permanent crown can be provided to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not extremely strong, which means that they can break or come loose very quickly.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can trigger quite a bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves underneath the short-term crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather uncomfortable and start to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will supply you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first appointment to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the need for a temporary crown, therefore allowing you to avoid all of the discomfort and pain.

Makes Sense

A conventional crown is not a very practical treatment to have performed, mainly because it normally takes a minimum of two appointments to complete.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a big issue if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents requiring time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible since many dentists will acquire the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than needing to order crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you avoid the trouble of having to potentially invest weeks and numerous visits to your dental practitioner before the procedure is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a convenient and reasonably pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

UltraSonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
