Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like the majority of dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy usually involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
