There are various kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.
It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social scenarios, and even your self-esteem.
A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the exact same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will usually feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially improve comfort. Often, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
