Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
