There are various types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and look return and one simply continues as usual. Commonly implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.
It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.
Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
