Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be starting to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a fantastic time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced innovations and procedures to supply our patients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are very delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is generally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help reinforce the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a badly tarnished tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, supply you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a lab, then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and remove any need to send out impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a temporary crown, since our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dentist to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our practice.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
