What's So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable process that can take several weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which enables us to scan, design, and mill lovely tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for additional information!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will discuss the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any concerns you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
