Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art innovation enables your dental practitioner to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide unparalleled convenience, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three fundamental steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take extremely accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dentist will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dentist will place it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to develop our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a beautifully restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and possible threats related to ill-fitting temporary crowns.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
