Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
