What's So Special About Single Visit Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable procedure that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to receive a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to find out more!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will go over the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will answer any concerns you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Is:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
