SAME DAY TOOTH REPLACEMENT
OWENSBORO KENTUCKY

Updated On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 01:09:05 AM

If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to eliminate unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding sturdiness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we offer on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another appointment set up for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new innovation that scans the mouth to obtain the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and long lasting and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. In some cases, a gold crown might be advised for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you might want to discuss your budget plan too with the your dentist. Your dentist will go over with you the types of crowns available and offer you a suggestion based upon your certain situation.

Call us to set up a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like many dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
