What's So Special About Same Day Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable process that can take numerous weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like many dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
