What's So Great About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable procedure that can take numerous weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture coming into our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dentist will address any concerns you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and convenient whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients love this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
