What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a cap made to cover a tooth with the purpose of restoring it to its natural shapes and size or to improve its appearance. To get ready for the crown, dental practitioners drill to remove the decayed area and also form the tooth to prepare for the crown for that part which lies around and above the gum line.

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most clients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and hassle-free lightening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
