If You Want A Dental Crown This Is Most Likely The Best Option

Getting a crown has actually long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Lots of people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown just takes one appointment!

The Old Fashioned Two Visit Way

At the very first appointment, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your permanent crown can be made. Many people dislike the goopy impression products that can make them gag and that takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you receive a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown arrives from the lab. Then later, you need to go back to the dentist, have the short-term crown removed and the new crown placed on your tooth

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

UltraSonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and eliminating plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits then polished.
