The Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is often needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Common crowns are relatively troublesome to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice because they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can result in discomfort for a few reasons, but one of the biggest sources of discomfort and pain is an outcome of having to use a short-term crown.

A temporary crown is used as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The issue with a temporary crown is that they are not extremely strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely easily.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can cause a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly unpleasant and begin to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

The good news is, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first appointment to the dentist.

This gets rid of the need for a short-term crown, thus permitting you to prevent all the discomfort and pain.

Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very practical procedure to have performed, mostly because it typically takes a minimum of 2 appointments to complete.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another appointment to have it changed. This can be a big issue if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible because many dentists will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to purchase crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the trouble of having to possibly spend weeks and numerous appointments to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and ask about the advantages provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a practical and fairly pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Ultrasonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and after that polished.
