Same day crowns are a dental restoration innovation that allows a dental practitioner to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted technologies, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns enables dentists the flexibility to fix teeth in a single sitting with a patient, rather than the several appointments needed with other methods!

Same day crowns have actually been shown by numerous medical studies and is provided by countless dentists to millions of patients worldwide each year!

Same day crowns not just saves you time and money, it can also conserve your teeth!

Dental X-rays are not able to penetrate metal crowns, making any degeneration undetectable up until it was too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This means any decay beneath the restoration can be discovered and fixed before it ends up being a big issue.

Since same day crown innovation use a milling device to mill the ceramic into your custom-made restoration, the porcelain is stronger than those developed by hand. And, the computer-assisted innovation can develop an almost identical restoration of the previous tooth.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
