Single Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental procedure that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to dread the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we provide a terrific time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we integrate cutting edge technology and procedures to supply our clients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a seriously discolored tooth that has to be brought back to its initial, attractive appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take images which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and eliminate any need to send impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a short-term crown, given that our permanent crown will be immediately offered to you.

If you wish to meet with our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are multiple methods to bleach teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth significantly. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
