If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or want to eliminate unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a great alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a short-term crown placed and then another appointment arranged for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and durable and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In some cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may vary between the two and you might wish to discuss your budget too with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will go over with you the types of crowns available and give you a suggestion based on your specific situation.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
