What Is So Special About Single Visit Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable procedure that can take a number of weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to receive a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have. Your dentist will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Dental Dentures

There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is examined and a determination is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and look return and one simply continues as usual. Commonly implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social situations, as well as your self-esteem.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to dramatically enhance the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for multiple years.
