Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single appointment, you just have to see the dentist one time, take one day from your routine to have the procedure, instead of the typical 2 or three appointments.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, since the whole procedure can be performed within an hour you only have to have one injection.

  • Your dentist is in complete control of the final result, because the crown or inlay are designed and fabricated from start to finish by your dentist, they have overall control over how it will fit and look.

  • No temporary restorations, which can often fall off between appointments if they are not looked after correctly.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
