Why Choose Single Visit Dental Crowns?

There are numerous advantages of one day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, which eliminates significant possible discomfort and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Visual appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new innovation restores your teeth to their natural durability, beauty, and function and carefully match the structure of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay lovely for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury containing silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
