Single Visit Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It allows us to create crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole treatment takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have needed two appointments. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be finished in just one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary as well as a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

The Topic For Today Is:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is usually constructed out of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some individuals, dental implants offer a smile that feels and look very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability because they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also discover the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that takes place when the root of a natural tooth is missing. When the implant is securely embeded in the mouth, the dental practitioner then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of benefits. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the patient who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don't need to be taken out all the time.
