What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are a number of benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over standard, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single appointment, you just have to see the dental practitioner once, take one day away from your life to have the procedure, instead of the normal two or 3 visits.

  • Only one set of local, since the entire procedure can be carried out within an hour you just have to have one injection.

  • Your dentist is in complete control of the final result, because the crown or inlay are designed and produced from start to finish by your dentist, they have total control over how it will look and fit.

  • No temporary restorations, which can typically fall off in between visits if they are not taken care of appropriately.

Today's Topic Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
